Management has not done its job
When I retired and returned to the Twin Cities after 25 years on the East Coast, one of the things that I was most excited about was reacquainting myself with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Imagine my surprise and delight to discover many of the same musicians I had listened to in the mid-80′s. Musicians I had seen debut were now seasoned members of the finest chamber orchestra in the country. The orchestra has never been better.
It is the management of the orchestra that is failing in its obligations to the audience and the community at large. Management has not done its job(supporting the musicians); the musicians have. Seems to me the wrong people are being locked out.
